Concordia Soccer Club non-profit Youth and Adult Organization

Development

Concordia Soccer Club develops players starting at age 7 all the way through age 23.  The process starts with our Academy Program (ages 7-9) where the fundamentals of soccer are introduced to young players by experienced coaches who know how to make learning the game fun.  Our U10-U12 teams are the prime years for development with a patient process of teaching techniques and tactics in a competitive, yet fun soccer atmosphere.  The U13-U18 experience begins to challenge these young adults with more complex soccer problems in a more competitive atmosphere; here players will truly be challenged.

After players graduate from our youth program, we hope to see them between their college seasons and again after they graduate with the hopes that one day they will return to play for one of our adult teams, coach in our youth program, and represent Concordia for life.

Offered Programs

Kinder Program:

Simple games and exercises will begin to teach the kids body coordination, balance, and skill. Advanced games will challenge the kids in simple problem solving and sharing amongst their peers. Youth Development Academy:

Concordia's Youth Development Academy is a player-centric program that understands that younger players still have a lot of learning and growing to do within the game and recognize that putting them in an environment where they would receive more training than matches is more developmentally appropriate. This approach allows us to foster development over winning, and lets these young players play freely.

Concordia Soccer Club understands that success is a byproduct of player development. There is a saying... you can't teach tactics without technique. Our Academy focuses on developing the player's technique in an environment where they don't have to worry about making mistakes or fear failure. Experimentation and self expression is encouraged in all of our kids as they learn the game in a fun soccer environment.

History of the Club

Concordia Soccer Club is the oldest active youth program in Ohio.  SCD Concordia (the parent soccer organization to Concordia Soccer Club) began playing soccer in 1957.  In 1963, SCD Concordia formed the first youth soccer program in Ohio.  We have been fielding adult (SCD Concordia) and youth (Concordia Soccer Club) teams ever since.

Concordia plays out of the beautiful Donauschwaben's German American Cultural Center (DGACC) at Lenau Park in Olmsted Township.  With our own facilities, including several outdoor fields and an indoor field, we are able to train and develop players year round.
